We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.

Parent involvement is highly valued and encouraged in all aspects of school life. We promote partnerships between home and school to ensure that students feel safe, supported and secure in their school setting. We believe that a strong connection between school and home sends a consistent message to children which helps with their learning and social development.

Parent Involvement
Parents are welcome and involved in the school in a variety of ways. Teachers aim to establish good relationships with parents each year and encourage regular communication regarding student progress.

Parents assist with classroom reading, library tasks, inter-school sport and gala days, fundraising and planning Yr 6 graduation.

School Hours

Monday – Friday 8:40am – 3:00pm

Playground Supervision Before School: From 8:15am
Each day a teacher is on duty in the Duke Street playground. Children should not arrive at school before playground duty commences. Please be aware that students should not be left alone outside the school gates in the morning as supervision is unavailable.

Punctuality:
Each child needs to be at school before the 8:40am bell ready for Morning Assembly. Children arriving late for school must come to the office accompanied by a parent to sign in late on Compass. If you need to pick up your child between 8:45am and 3:00pm you are required to attend the office before your child can be collected.

After School: all children need to be picked up promptly at 3.00pm every afternoon from the playground, if this is not possible you can enrol your child into After School Care. Children are asked to go straight home after school each day.

School Assemblies
Morning assemblies are held each morning at 8.40am.

There is a whole school assembly Friday afternoon, usually commencing at 2:40pm, it is held on the Duke Street playground. It features prayer, birthdays, Value class awards. Parents and visitors are invited to attend school assemblies, Mass, and all school celebrations.

Children must cross busy Duke and Evaline Streets at the Road Safety Crossings only. There is a Crossing Supervisor stationed at the Duke Street Crossing.
